I think that everybody out there with a website already knows how to do this except me. So please tell me, O Wise Readers, what software should I (could I) use to create a movie comprised of: 1) photos; 2) movies taken with my digital camera; and 3) music? I have Adobe Photoshop Elements, which I understand will let me make movies by combining music with still photos, but won't let me include movie footage. I have tried to use Windows Moviemaker, but it required me to go to some sort of horrendously lengthy conversion process with every tiny bit of movie footage that I wanted to include (my movie footage is taken on my Canon Powershot digital camera) - I spent about an hour to get approximately 2 minutes of footage converted, which seems insane to me.
Our computer at home is a PC. (A Powerbook is on our "wish list," but it's not near the top of the list, and I don't want to wait until then to make a few little movies.) I'm willing to actually PAY for a piece of software, but I hate to do it unless I have some reason to think that the software is actually going to do what I want it to do in a reasonably quick and easy-to-work-with manner.
For some reason I am burning with eagerness to make a little movie of (you guessed it) Katie photos and video, and I even know what song I want to use for the very first movie. My attempts thus far have been frustrating and unfruitful, however.
Can you help me? You know the answer to this, don't you? Yes, you. Will you comment or email me? Thank you, thank you!
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who has responded so far. For those of you who are interested, Aimee suggested muvee.com, Kerry suggested Pinnacle, and Stefania suggests Adobe Premiere or possibly Avid. I figure I'll check them out and play around. If you have other suggestions, or if you have experience with these programs, feel free to chime in!
