rush hour (October 23rd)

I drove to work today after my doctor's appointment this morning. The doctor was the way I remembered her: friendly, down to earth, easy to talk to. She reminded me that the chances of getting pregnant in any given month are 20%, and that the chances of getting pregnant in a year are still only around 80%. She suggested that I spend the holiday season getting "all romantical," and to see what happens. She asked me to come back in January, when it's been a year of trying. She will run some tests, which she is "95% sure" will come back perfectly normal, in large part because of the fact of Katie's existence.
The nurse didn't even weigh me. She asked me, "Do you know what you weigh?" And I said yes, I did. I told her how much, and she wrote it down. It was amazing how much nicer that was than standing there on the scale, watching the nurse scoot that little weight over, over, up and up, pound by pound by pound.
(I thought about not posting a picture today at all; at 9:30 tonight I had only taken 12 pictures, and this was the best of them. But then I looked through them, and I don't know, maybe it's worthwhile to go ahead and pick today's best photo, even when today's photo isn't very good. And in any case, it's not like it hurts anything (other than, perhaps, our delicate sensibilities) to post it.)
I love all of the photos and it is a joy that you are posting everyday. Your entries are fantastic.

The traffic there - it makes me itch!

Do you know what? Even a photo that you think is not very good is still interesting to me! I'm very much enjoying seeing and reading your daily entries.
Can I also say that I think you probably have a wise doctor there. I've heard that stress can somehow cause problems in getting pregnant and that it's just when people relax that they hit the jackpot (so to speak). So, for what it's worth, I agree. Relax and enjoy the holidays.

My theory about posting pictures is that they don't always have to be museum-worthy. If one of the reasons you take pictures is to document your life, then it's easier to find one that is postable.
